Nancy Cowan School of Dance

About the School

Ballet

The school started in 1970 as the Rideau School of Performing Dance.  It has been under the direction of Nancy since 1999.  The focus of the school is to teach proper technique and help students dance to their full potential in a friendly yet professional manner.  Students are given opportunities to perform in our December and Spring shows.  Young and older dancers gain grace, poise, self-confidence and flexibility.  They benefit from the muscle toning, fitness and self-discipline that dance offers.  Children enjoy their commitment to our dance program and the experience of performing on a stage.

Ballroom

The ballroom program is based on the international style and can be used for social dancing or competitive dancing.  You will learn to move with ease to music and to be comfortable on the dance floor.  Competitive training and private lesson are available.

Opportunities to practice are once a month on Tuesday nights with the Gotta Dance Ballroom & Latin Studio held at 414 Pleasant Park Road, Ottawa in the Pleasant Park Baptist Church.  Near Smyth and Alta Vista.

Visit the website for more details:  www.gottadanceottawa.com  or view the Ballroom Info menu page.
